Ingredients
Base Layer
- 3/4 cup softened butter
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups flour
Topping
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1-2 cups pecans
Preparation
- Grease a 9x13 pan with Crisco
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- In a bowl mix 3/4 cup softened butter, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, and 1 1/2 cups flour
- Press into pan and bake 15 minutes
- Put maple syrup and 2/3 cup packed brown sugar in a small pan and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat
- In a medium sized bowl beat 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons flour, salt, and vanilla
- Slowly pour the hot syrup into the beaten egg mixture while continuing to beat the eggs
- Pour over the baked crust and top with pecans
- Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes
